A follow-up poll-type topic.

Base it on whatever, which style you win the most on...which you believe is fair to your fellow listeners...and so on.

I like the dice one, just because it is so random.

I like the dice because it gives everyone with the correct answer a fair shake.

I put a vote in for gmail messages, because when I am listening from work I cannot log into KoL (the site is blocked) and therefore can't send any message through it.

i really like cassandra7's method of determining a winner. I would adapt her method, except i dont want to be a copycat and unless she gives me permission i'm not going to do it lol

my only problem with the X PM recieved method is that if people are lagged they're screwed.

I like the blue pm method but the lag does have an effect. I wish there was a really good way to do things fairly, maybe the dice would be the best way. I'm not sure how to green message (kmail) though.

I think the dice roll one is the fairest, because some people have more lag than others.

The way lag has been acting for most people lately, I think the dice roll is the best way to go about a contest now. I've found out before that I've been listening a good thirty seconds behind most other people. I wouldn't stand a CHANCE at a trivia question!

Lag pretty much kills the concept if you ask for the [x]th person...that and those goddamn spammers.

Dice - give everyone (only take the first [x] answers, I guess) an equal shot at winning

I put "other" but I suppose I was answering a slightly different question. I prefer contests where you have to do something.. send in some kind of idea or experience or story and the dj picks their favourite. It gives the shows a bit of interesting content too - not that most of the Djs aren't interesting enough already. I know that isn't suitable for all shows though.. so would go for dice rolls for straight trivia (and not just because I won something from Vida like that the other day :) )

I think most of those methods work depending on the trivia question itself and the block of listeners. Cassandra's way is the most liberal and I like it though it seems like it'd be time consuming? Unless its a computer simulated thing.. cause if you have 30 right answers.. how do you roll a die to find the winner? Anyways- off topic.

I agree with the post by Jill-Bob (cute name by the way) I did a jokes contest and people seemed to really take to it.. its even more fun I think if you let the listeners decide which one is there favorite, joke, story, whatever. It gives them more of a chance to give feedback which makes the entire experience more fun for both DJ and listener. But hey, thats just my opinion!
