Hey to all you hipsters, flipsters and finger-poppers! Get ready for the swankiest contest my DJ self offering you.

I am going to give away 46,044 martinis.

No one has that many in their DC. The mall doesn't even have that many to purchase, if anyone could afford to do so. Now, it ain't gonna be easy and ain't gonna be simple and you all need to help me out along the way.

The contest will be held in 2 parts: part 1 is the collection, part 2 is the giving away, natch.

So here's how it breaks down, cats:

PART 1

My radio booze collecting multi, Hot Dark Gem (#817515) will be collecting the martinis for the purposes of this giveaway. Send all your martinis to her, directly. You can check out her Display Case to see martini collecting progress. I will only include straight up martinis in the DC. Other types of swinging juice like vodka martinis etc. will be given away seperately in random acts of giving awayness.

To sweeten the deal, I am awarding tiered prizes for the donators. When we hit the collection milestone listed below, a prize will be awarded to the person who made the pool grow to that size.

5000: Radio Button Candy
7500: Mr. Accessory
15000: March Hat (thanks Senor Random!)
25000: Ice Pick (thanks Tom The Mighty!)
40000: McPhee's Grimoire
46044: The dirtiest prize of all, a Dirty Martini. (Thanks Spo!)

PART 2

11 swanky people will receive 1,337 martinis
1 cool cat will get 31,337 martinis, and a piece of Radio Free gear.

How do you win? Well, there's 12 winners so I'll be designing 12 different ways to win. Art, music, randomness and Kingdom lore will all play a part in it. So stay tuned!

Now, once we get all the martinis assembled, I'll announce the show date that the giveaway will occur. You need not be present to win one of the 11 prizes, but you *must* be present to win the Grand Prize.

So put on your best silk jacket, put your feet up on your red velvet couch, grab a martini and dim the lights. Time to get swanky!

And of course, when you get down and out, and your life is a real bummer, tune in to Radio KOL. We're the cure, cats, for all that ails you!

We have our first winner!

5000th martini was donated by Spo (#626298)! Spo is now the bearer of a shiny new Radio Button Candy! Thanks Spo!

Onward and upward!

Winner #2! dachht (#439512) is the pround owner of a shiny new Mr. A!

Ok, so now thing are *really* rolling. I am going to revise the prize tiers a bit to reflect the relative value of the items.

So the new breakdown is:

15000: McPhee's Grimoire
25000: Ice Pick
40000: March Hat
46044: Dirty Martini

Hot Dark Gem's DC will now update *only* when we've hit that last martini! That gives everyone a fair chance at getting the good prizes...I will however give hints on air as to where we stand in terms of the whole collection.

Stay tuned!

Contests have now been decided! There are 11 different ways to win the small (1337 martinis) prizes. The small contests will start now, and will end when all the martinis are collected (whenever that may be!). The Big Prize contest will be announced later, and you will have to be present when that show airs to win.

You may only enter each contest one time. That's 11 chances to win!

Randomness
A random person, chosen randomly, somewhere in the Kingdom will win! No entry needed here, except perhaps the liberal bribing of chatbot.

Haiku Bump
Write your best Haiku about Grok and Grok's show. Winning entry (chosen by Grok) will get their haiku recorded to use as a show bump!

Limerick Bump
Write your best limerick about Grok and Grok's show. Winning entry (chosen by Grok) will get their limerick recorded to use as a show bump!

Forum Art
Grok needs a forum avatar. 100 pixel x 100 pixel drawings, use your creative juices! I have no preference for black and white or 64 million colors, as long as it's cool, man. I will post all entries, choose my favorite.

Your Music
Send me one piece of music that you think is teh awesome. Choose something that is original, rare or unusual. I'll pick the winning entry!

SuperGrok
GrokTheMad is my secret identity. What is my superhero name and describe my super powers and/or my origin in 50 words or less. ManMan! All the powers of a man bestowed on a man!

Photoshop Phood
If Grok were a food item what would I be? Use your visually creative noodle (as it were) in this entry. I'll post all entries and choose which phood best represents.

Pirates Ahoy!
Cast Grok in an original piratical themed story of 100 words or less. Hero, villain or comedic relief, it's all up to you! This will, obviously, be bump material.

Teh Dozens
OK, bring it. Gimme your best insult. I can take it *bites quivering lower lip*. We'll see who's momma so fat! Send in your written entries, and I'll choose the one that hurts my feelings most. And then I'll get a radio celebrity to record it and use it as a show bump.

Bohemian Groksody
You all know that song by Queen? The Bohemian Rhapsody? You know the best part of that song? The one in the middle? The opera thing? With all the
high parts and stuff? That one? Are there enough questions asked by now?

Well...YOU get to record it for me to play, on air. You get no
instrumental background (a capella only!). You can't collaborate.
You must do all the parts (if you choose to do it multi-part) by yourself.

Go for the high notes!

And the winner will be chosen by me, by how well they can closely
approximate the song. Note this does NOT equate to vocal talent! You can
be off key as hell, as long as you went for the high notes and the low
notes at the appropriate times! I guess a basic sense of rhythm is
expected here, but isn't all that necessary either!

DJ Trivia
Hey radioheads! How well do you know your radio KOL? I'll be asking you trivia questions, all of which have a DJ as the answer. I'll do this on the air and ask for entries after we've gone through all the questions. Study up now!

----------------------------------------------------------------------

So, all entries must be in the format specified or they will be ineligible.

Subject: <contest name> from <kol name>

Example: Pirates Ahoy! from EyeizAn00b
Example: Haiku Bump from MommaDontRaiseNoFool

Bad Example: Hey Grok! I invited you to GChat!

This will make it easy for me to search and sort by the contest type. Send all entries to:

iwantgroktinis@gmail.com

Given the amount of entries I could receive, I may do this giveaway over the course of several shows. Keep those martinis coming! Good luck to everyone!

OK so now I am going to start closing down the contests and giving stuff away.

But I have ZERO entries for the Bohemian Groksody and the Photoshop Phood! None! What's a madman to do?

Enter now if you want to win. Contests will close at rollover 5/9.

C'mon folks! You need these martinis!

Which part exactly is the operatic part? I seem to have lost my copy of the song.

I might try one, too. Should be interesting trying to hit high notes with my voice...

EDIT: Yep, it was painful...
