About Me

Jolson42 (the 42 is silent, from when I was in high school, and geeking out over Douglas Adams) really likes puzzles. Check out the contest section below for more info. He is a fan of games, both of the video and board varieties, puzzles, LEGO and origami. Do not ask him about these things unless you're sure you want lots of opinions.
When he's not being a DJ, he is a high school maths teacher (also a bit of computing). He has heard that there have apparently been a lot of maths teacher DJs. There may be some sort of conspiracy here. fnord
He also often volunteers at The Army Museum of Western Australia. He mostly runs the shop, and fixes computers, and knows very little about military things. Don't tell them that.

Music

Jolson42 has a very broad range of music, occasionally deep too. His track list is available here. (that should update every 24 hours... please let me know if the link is broken!) I'm almost always happy to play requests... if I don't have the music you want to hear, please send it to jolson42@gmail.com!

Contests

As someone who loves puzzles and riddles, I have a semi-regular puzzle contest. It is sometimes a weekly event, but it comes and goes...
Check out the archive at http://radio-kol.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=5588 for the most recent details!
I also have a secret contest, which runs all the time. Nothing more shall be said of the secret contest, except that winners go into the hall of fame list on the puzzle archive thread, and win a prize.

Storytime

Once a week, come along for Storytime! I read short stories, play audiobooks and podcasts, and sometimes play games with the radio audience. Regular content has included Pseudopod (a short horror story podcast), The Mythology of the Modern World (a series of stories explaining modern occurrences), Welcome to Night Vale (the goings on of a strange little desert town in America - another podcast), Machine of Death (an anthology of stories about a machine that predicts your demise) and a range of choose-your-own-adventure stories.
